Hi,

I'm interested in a number of schools, and I'd like to know what their secondary questions are so that I can choose what to talk about in AMCAS and what to leave for secondaries.

Could you please tell me what the secondary questions were for Yale, Harvard, Columbia, Cornell, Hopkins? I'm, of course, applying to other schools but these are my top choices at this point. For people who applied to Mt. Sinai, Einstein, Tufts, Dartmouth, UPenn, Emory, I would GREATLY appreciate it if you could please tell me those secondary questions too. That would be soooo helpful

Thank you so much for any help you guys can provide.

I can tell you that Harvard's secondary only involved providing some information and some money; there was no extra essay. And Columbia doesn't participate in AMCAS, so their application is only one step. I think I just used one (or both) of my AMCAS essays for their app. If I remember correctly, Penn also didn't have any essays in their secondary. That's all I remember off-hand.

Cornell's secondary questions..

1) If you're taking time off, discuss what you're doing.

2) Reasons for applying to Cornell

This is Columbia.

1. What satisfactions do you expect to receive from your activities as a physician?

(PLEASE LIMIT WRITING TO 36/21.5 LINES; DO NOT SCROLL) We highly recommend that you create your text offline and save it locally on your computer first. These text areas allow minimal formatting (no bold or italics). For indentions use space bar 5 times. When creating line breaks, also use the space bar multiple times. If you use 'Return' or 'Enter' to create line breaks it may add a double break. Once saved online, always REVIEW your page in Acrobat Reader to make sure your formatting is correct and that content is not being cut off. (380 words)

2. In what collegiate extracurricular activities did you engage?

3. Please list collegiate honors, awards and memberships in honorary societies.

5. What sort of work did you do (include summer employment)?
(PLEASE LIMIT WRITING TO 16/9.5 LINES (167 words)

6. If your education has been interrupted for any reason, please indicate briefly the reasons, the duration of the interruption and how your time was spent.
(PLEASE LIMIT WRITING TO 19/11.5 LINES (197 words)

Thanks everyone. You're soo great!

Anyone with secondary questions from the other schools, please post.

Thanks bunches and bunches   <img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" />

Tufts:

Why have you applied to Tufts University School of Medicine? Please describe any relationship you or your family members have had with Tufts.

(nepotism? I guess if it works for the prez...)

Dartmouth:

Please indicate what you are doing during the 2001-02 academic year. If in school, list courses. If working, let us know something about the nature of your job.

Please share with us something about yourself that is not addressed elsewhere in your application and which could be helpful to the Admissions Committee as we review your file.

U Penn:

Just $$$$$ and a few biographical extras. Most of it probably on AMCAS but adcoms seem to need it twice in triplicate with important points highlighted.

Best of luck.

no questions for Einstein... just $$$ and basic info
