Is valid to address yourself as a future [specialty] on your essay or is it considered pompous. I don't want to give off that kind of vibe.

Well, I wanted to stress that I'm interested in the schools neuro program and how it would help me become a neurologist. I wrote "As a neuroscience major and future neurologist I have always been interested in every aspect of the brain...I believe this school's reputation in neurology will help me...etc."
