I'm a reapplicant, I was wondering if I should go with a standard white background photo or pick one with a different background, the bricks or out in the yard?

Thanks for your help.

I like the brick background...simple with less distractions.

I would go with the more uniform background.

Thanks, I had a white background last year and wanted to do something different this year.

did someone throw acid on your face?

id go with the brix

What's wrong with keeping it professional, standard white/grey/single color background? 😕

Some schools ask that you provide a passport-style photo, which would require a solid white background with no shadow cast on the wall, among other things. I would just play it safe with a solid white background. These photos don't really play into an admissions decision.

Then again, your face is very concerning. Medical schools have technical requirements that require the ability to see, hear, and speak, and I'm afraid that you appear to lack all of those senses due to a hideous deformity.

You're supposed to have their school in the background of the picture. Duh

Oh on, I've seen this before. You have seven days to live.

wait...u need a picture of urself for the application?

for all schools??

Not for all, but a few. I applied to 26 schools, and about 8-9 asked for a photo. It's mainly used to recall your interview and give a face to the app! :naughty:

I set my camera on self-timer and took about 30 shots with a dark brown wall behind me. I suggest the old elementary school pose, turn your chest but look straight at the camera. 👍

When they say passport style, they're mainly referring to the size of the photo (a 2x2). You don't have to have a plain white background, but something simple and not distracting would be the best choice. I've even seen people use candid photos/normal-looking facebook pics cropped down to 2x2, although that's less advisable.

Do you have to be dressed up? I have the actual photo I used for my passport (about a year ago). You can't see much of my clothes, but you can tell I'm not wearing a suit.

You don't need a suit, but most of the ones I've seen have either a suit or nice clothes (polo, nice blouse/cardigan, etc). All you can see in mine is a black cardigan. I'd just avoid a t-shirt.

is my senior college photo good enough? Instead of facing directly like the first post, my pic is angled a bit but I am dressed in a suit. There is some background touch-up so the background is slightly blur while my face is very clear. Is that good enough?

It's also on my fb....should I take it down?

Thanks!

Both are fine. However, your tie crease needs work
