Hello! I am currently trying to pre-write the challenge secondary and was wondering if this is a good topic. Coming into college, I struggled with self-confidence and being assertive. I wanted to change that so I became a coach for athletes with intellectual/developmental disabilities. I want to talk about growing into that position and a particular incident where I had to negotiate a conflict between two athletes. However, I also think my experience with these athletes may work as a diversity essay, though it feels like a bigger stretch.

Thoughts?

The specific one I am working on right now is "Please describe a challenge you faced and how you addressed it."

It will work.

It's not good for a diversity prompt

Hello @Goro. For the diversity prompt, do you think it would be a good idea to talk about growing up with a relative with a developmental disability and with parents who came to the US as refugees shaped my views on life and service? Really struggling right now since I do not know if swimming and guitar as my passions really stand out.

Nope, that's about them. And about 1/3rd of all med students have immigrant parents.

What's cool about YOU?

I would say that what I talk about most when getting to know people is my involvement in swimming and water polo. It might be common but I think the lessons I learned there are really big parts of shaping how I am today.
