There's nothing between the lines here haha. What is something personally meaningful/significant to you outside of research or test grades that you've worked towards or been involved with?

What the hell do you do other than study? Tell me about it.

You can certainly bring up topics that the school/interviewer can't ask you outright but that might be important to you such as raising a child or religious observances and practices. You might have trained for an athletic event or organized an annual fund-raiser for a cause dear to your heart. Maybe you've been a Scout or an athlete or a performer.

It doesn't have to be unique. (There are about 8 million parents with new babies in America every year.)

Yeah I'm aware I'm being too literal-minded here, but if they are asking people to tell them what is truly the one most important thing they have ever done or been involved in, they aren't going to get people talking about how well-rounded and/or unique they are, for the simple fact that those cool little personal flairs are not going to be the singular most deep and profound aspect of many lives. Having a kid or getting married, for example, would trump everything else for a lot of people in spite of being wholly unremarkable, unmemorable, and basically uninteresting to everyone else.

Thank you for the feedback though. I'll just not overthink it and probably lie and say something more interesting and unique but less personally significant.

They want to know what you think is meaningful and important in your life outside of school. This is not hard. It has nothing to do with anyone else, and the rest of your app should show how well rounded you are.

Basically what do you do besides studying? Which of these non academic activities have impacted you the most? It's really not that difficult as a question-I wouldn't lie about it because it'll probably come off as less genuine. As long as it's not something offensive I can't see why putting personal stuff would be negative, the whole point of the question is to learn more about you

Those "what is your favorite/best/single-most-overarching-life-altering XYZ" always stump me too - it's easy to get hung up on the measurement aspect of it ("Do I really love my dog even more than my cat?"). So I would suggest picking two or three meaningful activities/experiences, not worrying about whether they were THE one, and start writing. Get a few different rough drafts going. See which one starts to sound the most genuine and interesting. Go with that one.
