So I understand why the NRMP makes such a big deal about applicants not sharing or posting information from the SOAP list of unmatched sites. It saves face for the programs and the applicants if they can fill before match day.

However, if I match Monday, I would still be really interested to see what that list looks like. How many spots are scrambled into? What areas of the country are they in? Were any of them at programs where I applied or matched? It would also be helpful to future applicants to know if it is really possible to scramble into PMR? Think about all the treads started about how many programs to rank to match, or oops, I missed the application deadline or changed my field late and have to scramble now.

PS. Am I wrong in thinking that the only publicly published list is after the scramble? That is, when we hear that there were no left over spots in PMR for the last few years, they mean after the match, right?

The data on fill vs. no fill broken down by program is released after match day. The data represents pre-SOAP spots open. Most likely filled by the time it is released as a way to guarantee that the NRMP makes their money and programs are not contacted outside of the SOAP format by non registered applicants.

On the Monday of match week, they release # of open spots per specialty broken down by region.
