Hi all, I am a struggling foreign dental student who recently graduate in april 2004, I passed my part 1 in 2003; however, it had a terrible score of 79 average. My Toefl score was 240. I am really struggling and hoping to get in any advancing standing program here in the States. I recently got a rejection letter from Columbia Univ. To make the matter worse, i heard that one of the member had part 1 average of 88 and STILL did not get accepted. I am now really so confuse and depress right now, i really dont know what i should do? I am really hoping someone would be kind enough to answer my thread and truely helping me out here. In addition, What is the bench exam about? I post the question but no one answer me in that thread and in that thread the responds was out of control. 😕 Well, i wish someone could help me out here with my case, Thanks all 😳 😳

hello steve,
retake your exam part1...and dont get dipressed..i know how you feel now...i have been through...iam retaking my exam in nov...allthe best to you

Hi Steve,

There is no reason to be depressed. We know how you feel and we are all in the same boat. You must redo your NDB part 1 exam and score a minimum of 85 to be seriously considered. Ideally aim for 90+ to almost guarantee interview calls. Try to bring your TOEFL score over 250 so Boston and USC become a reality. See if you can redo part 1 by December so you can at least apply to NYU. Otherwise, you will probably have to wait until next year to apply to most of the other universities. Best of luck.
