In case you guys missed it, I read this in Medscape today.
Selection Criteria for Residency: National Program Directors Survey Results:

This study includes competitive specialties formerly shrouded in mystery such as: neurosurgery, radiation oncology, ortho, plastics, ophthal, ENT, etc.

I think the results don't surprise most people, but it's nice to see the results from the PDs themselves.

Thanks for the info; especially good for those that have some time to change these parameters.

Also... only 8 days til Match! No need to prolong it another day :laugh:.
 
it is free to register. And it's worth it - you also get access to emedicine.com which is a great medical resource.
 
I don't think the survey is too helpful, simply because I think there's quite a bit of variation among residency PD's, even in the same specialty, as to what they think is important in a candidate. But it does give one a general idea of what things they consider.
