I'm an intern in NY. I'm almost out of my allergy and migraine meds, and I don't have an internist here yet. Can I just call in prescriptions for these meds myself? Even though I'm not licensed? I've never called in a prescription. What information does the pharmacy ask you to provide? Just your name, or do you need some type of ID number as well?

Or, you could do what I did: skip the whole issue, call your old doctor, and have him phone in the Rx's to whatever pharmacy you like.

My entire intern year, I never wrote a prescription for anyone who wasn't a legitimate patient of one of my attendings. I highly recommend doing the same.

well shucks I always enjoyed reading her posts in the anesthesia forums and about prescribing laws and whatnot. Didn't realize she had a bum rap elsewhere.

Search her last dozen posts or so. I believe it was a conflict in this very forum that ultimately drove her away.
