I'm an intern in NY. I'm almost out of my allergy and migraine meds, and I don't have an internist here yet. Can I just call in prescriptions for these meds myself? Even though I'm not licensed? I've never called in a prescription. What information does the pharmacy ask you to provide? Just your name, or do you need some type of ID number as well?

Since your allergy and migraine meds are not controlled substances you can write for them without a DEA #.

Or, you could do what I did: skip the whole issue, call your old doctor, and have him phone in the Rx's to whatever pharmacy you like.

My entire intern year, I never wrote a prescription for anyone who wasn't a legitimate patient of one of my attendings. I highly recommend doing the same.

1) not that we know of. He has his own site http://www.hostingphpbb.com/forum/index.php?mforum=kinetic which he doesn't work on much anymore
