Self study?

In my experience, it hasn't been that helpful. Bio material differed significantly when my prof started lecturing, and precalc problem sets were easier than the chapter I did (and then there's the matter of recalling material for the first test). I'd just enjoy the break before you're slammed with homework and tests.

If nothing else, I'd read introductory chapters or slides to get a feel for the class. Know syllabi very well and if your school offers them, take assignment schedules to heart so you can plan stuff and be aware of a 3-4 exam week. But that's just me.

Naww I found it useful especially in the tougher classes. What's the course?

I'll be taking general chemistry in the spring. I just graduated in May, but I haven't had a chemistry course in a while. So I thought it might be beneficial to study up on some of the concepts before hand.

I recommend memorizing the common acids, bases and poly atomic ions. Also SI unit would be helpful

If you tested out of the chem pre requisite class that you need before general chem 1 and 2 then you'll be fine
