Send away letter to that attending's program?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
yes! why wouldn't you?

an argument for not including it would be that, theoretically, the program would already know their own attending's opinion of me, and with the limited # of LORs I should include a letter that would provide new information about me.

When I was planning on doing aways I was told that people expect you to get a letter if you do an away. It seems like the place you would absolutely send that letter is where you got the letter in the first place.
When you get most of your letters at your home program, you still send them to your home program, don't you?

Presumably (hopefully!) that LOR will say something like "Magillicutty will make an excellent orthopod and would be a great addition to our or any program." You want that LOR read at his program.

I did. And I got an interview there, so I can't say it didn't work/help. Maybe I would have gotten an interview there without that letter, but I'm glad I didn't risk it.
