Sending a letter from a D.O. to M.D. schools?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hello All,

I was wondering your thoughts for or against sending a letter from shadowing a D.O. to an M.D. School?

Thanks,

Jeremy

It depends, does the DO practice medicine.

The reason not to send an DO letter has nothing to do with the DO. It has everything to do with the fact that physician letters are fluff!

Not at my state school.
33% is MCAT/GPA
33% is LOR,EC
33% interview

There two MD schools that request a "clinical" letter: UT and AZ.
AZ does not require that this be from a physician.
If you can add to this, please do.

Thanks

Except you as usual completely missed the point and now are going into your standard belligerent responses.

All medical schools value LORs highly. Very, very, very few value LORs from shadowing, as these add nothing of substance to the application since the evaluator cannot substantively comment on your strengths/weaknesses/performance.

I agree, but I was trying to get rid of competition.
LOL, I received an infarction for this post.
