Sending a LOR after being complete

Is a LOR after being complete considered an "update letter"? The general consensus is that schools are not so keen on update letters. I'm complete at most schools, and I'm in the process of getting an additional physician LOR that I believe will be very strong. Could sending this additional physician letter affect me negatively?

Depends on the school.

For instance, I called U of Illinois about it, and they said that once your application is complete they don't look at anything else. If you sent in additional LoRs, you will have to call them and tell them to read it lol. They did not say how they view it though...

UC Davis told me that they don't guarantee that it'll be read before a screener makes a decision. University of Arizona Phoenix will read it. I will continue to update as I learn more from schools.
