Hi,

I recently interviewed at a school that is my top choice by far. I was wondering if it is helpful to get another reference letter from someone in a prominent position at my university with the letter specifically addressed to that one school?

I interviewed about a week ago but haven't had a decision made on my file yet.

Also, is it smart to call admissions, ask to speak to the dean and tell them that it is your top choice?

Thanks

I would say do the letter b/c it can't hurt, but it probably won't make a difference. So many applicants probably do the same exact thing but not everyone does it. As for calling, definitely don't do that. That is intruding too much and probably will be taken negatively.

Decisions can take a long time as well, anywhere from a few days to several months. So you just have to sit and wait. It is definitely good to show interest and update schools on new significant activities but use this sparingly.
