Posted this in another thread and just realized that it's probably more suitable here. In haste of trying to get my PS out early, I realized that it needed minor revisions. I noticed that most of the programs didn't even download my application yet so I replaced my PS with a newer one last night. I was wondering if they will see both or just the new one. On ERAS it says something like if you de-select your original PS but assign a new one, the new one overwrites if the program didn't make a hardcopy of the original yet. However, using the track applications tool, the programs that downloaded my file today had downloaded both personal statements. I hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot and gave them two copies. Anyone else in the same situation in the past?

oh, very good... i had the exact same question earlier today and had been confused by the exact same explanation in ERAS. thanks!

Oh good! I applied just today. When I uploaded my PS, it's was all ok and then after I applied to some programs and I rechecked my PS again, I found out that ( ' ) were replaced by the inverted ( ? ). So I revised and resent the same PS and were both downloaded by the programs. I was thinking that the program director might see 2 PS'es.

Anyhow, thanks for your reply. I feel better now.

Cheers!

As far as I know, they can't see the old ones but they could have theoretically printed out the old one already and filed it away into a folder but that seems unlikely right....

from ERAS FAQ:

When documents are resent, they replace any files that are currently there, programs will not have to search through two-three copies of your personal statement or LoRs. They will only see one, the one that you requested to be transmitted.

cheers!
