Well, my current research project starts in June post-MCAT, goes for at least December. The researcher I'm working with obviously won't give me a letter at this point, as I haven't done anything. However, assuming I do all the research well, he said he would be willing to write a letter for me about 5-6 months down the line.
The thing is, my committee letters are due the same day as my MCAT (ha ha)
So, obviously it's not going to be compiled with the letter. When I do get the letter, in mid October, November, if I do well, is it appropriate to send the letter directly to the medical school from the LOR writer? I don't want to step on my committee's toes, but there's no way that this letter will be part of the committee package because of the time-line, and from my last cycle, I know that you either check Committee Package or I will send in my own letters.
So will they accept an extra letter at that time, perhaps if I give them notice?
