i'm a high school senior that finished taking pre-calc, calculus 1, and calculus 2. i'll be doing pre-pharmacy next year/this year at a university. here are my grades for the three classes:
pre-calc : 3.7
calc 1: 4.0
calc 2: 4.0
would i get credit for these classes at my university? and what does getting credit mean exactly? would my grades in these classes be counted into my cGPA?
because if it wouldn't, wouldn't it be a good idea to retake these courses and do just as well, just so that it would be counted toward my cGPA?

If you took these classes in high school, the only way you will get college credit is if you pass the AP test in each subject. It will show up on your college transcript (after sending in your scores) that you got X amount of credits for calc, but no grade. And even with this credit, a lot of pharmacy schools won't accept AP scores so you will most likely have to re-take them again (just Calc. though, 1-2 semesters depending on the schools you plan on applying to). Plus, you seem like a smart lad so re-taking them will only benefit you and help boost your cGPA.

thanks for the reply. just for clarification, i didn't take these classes at my high school. i took them at a college, as a college class, rather than an AP / high school course. i think i still have the option of skipping these classes, even without taking the AP exam, because i took them at a college. so my question is, do my grades in these classes transfer over to my cGPA when i enter college next fall?... because i did technically take them at a college.

Yes, all your college coursework ever taken will be used to calculate your cGPA. It doesn't matter when or where you took the class. And you definitely won't need to be retaking those courses either since you already completed them with a slam dunk.

Best of luck to your bright future!
