b/c this has come up SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many times on here and someone brought up this idea, not me... inquiring minds want to know, what is the correlation b/t sending thank you notes to your interviewers and your gender?

sorry for the grammatical mistakes in the poll, forgot to preview 😳

you get the point.

what about people who bake thank you cakes?

just got my stationary done for thank-you notes(im obviously female,no guy would get stationary for thank-you notes done, i dont think?)

i think i am going to post 2 more polls (one after dec. 1 and then one later in the spring) to see if anything stands out about people who sent/did not send thank you notes. it would be interesting. something like:

female, yes i sent thank you notes and was accepted to a school
female, no i did not send thank you notes and was not accepted to a school
etc.

i have a feeling that no matter what comes out of it, it probably has more to do with the type of person who sends thank you notes rather than the actual act of sending the thank you note.

altough if you are female, so far it looks like you better be sending thank you notes!!!😀

I am a guy and not a thank you note kind of person, but thank you brownies or bannana bread If there was a way to fed ex some treats... yah...
Seriously if you could send some treats, the AdComms might accept you with the hopes that there will be more to come...

i baked thank you cakes for all of my schools and i got in everywhere.. coincidence?

u actually made a poll about this?? ridiculous....

considering this topic has come up a number of times and several people (yourself not included) found the topic interesting, yes i made a poll. feel free not to post your comments if you intend to continue with your current attitude on the subject. 🙄

NO thank you notes... no one likes a brown noser

you would send a letter of thanks after interviewing of the job....which DOES show work etiquette so why wouldn't you do the same for a school interview?

I have told many ADCOMMS I appreciate their time that they put in for us, and they ALWAYS say-well thats what I get paid for-thats my job.

I think that explains the attitudes of the ADCOMs they are getting paid for this, it is not out of charity (if it was maybe we wouldn't be paying 50k a year for education

Maybe it's their way of saying "you're welcome." I'm sure they like to be appreciated.

I have owned and operated my own business for 7 years, and after that I was Vp of warehouse operations for 3 years and I never once got a thank you letter after interviewing.... and if i did it still wouldnt make me wanna jump out and hire that person.. perhaps where you are from this is an accepted why of doing things.. but as far as sending an interviewer a thank you letter.... they have way too much to read through already, like other peoples applications.. trust me they know you are greatful for the chance to visit with them but for them it is just another day in the office and im sure they wont lose any sleep over whether or not you thank them......

thats just my thought on the matter, if you feel it is the correct thing to do then go for it 🙂

yesterday, i got a thank you letter in the mail from one of the schools i recently interviewed at, signed by one of my interviewers!!! now, if i had not sent thank you notes out to that school i would have felt pretty bad since they sent me one 😱, and i think it would have looked a little odd to have been scrambling to get out thank you notes AFTER receiving their's.

we probably both got each others at the same time 🙂

Dear god, I thought we were behind this. Some things are better left for the years they were unfortunate enough to appear in 🙄

shouldn't they be sending us thank you notes because we had to pay for supplemental applications...and bought a 500000 dollars ticket to go to the schools? This is irrational, i don't get it. And yes! the interviewers did thank me for comming to the interviews.
