Can you send your transcripts to AMCAS before you submit your application and complete the personal statement or does everything need to be complete for them to hold on to your transcripts? Thanks. All the threads are blurring together...I can't look at anymore.

Yes. It is advised that you send it slightly before or around the same time you send your primary application. This prevents delay of your application. Make sure your AMCAS is accurate and complete, otherwise, it may take awhile to have it processed or they'll send it back.

Well I don't plan on writing my essay untill end of Auguest but I wanted to see how they were going to calculate my gpa (i was neuroscience so i have a lot of neurosci classes that are psych/neurosci) so I wanted to send my transripts sooner. Is this not a good idea?

They won't calculate your GPA until you have submitted your primary application and they verify your grades and courses compared to your transcript. So, if you plan to write your essay at the end of August, you'll have to wait until AACOMAS processes it. Sending in your transcripts sooner will ensure that they'll have your transcripts before your primary application, that's it.
