Hey guys,

So I'm sending in my transcript from this class that I took over the summer. I was thinking it might be cheaper to send to the schools via interfolio, rather than from my schools registrar.

via my school registrar it'll be 15$ regular processing - 2 weeks, or 30$ for rush delivery. Is this cheaper than interfolio? do the transcripts need to come directly from the school?

Thanks

If you used interfolio, wouldn't you still have to pay the school's registrar for them to release it to interfolio first, on top of whatever interfolio will charge?

I guess it depends on how many schools you need to send it to.

interfolio is a ~$15 one-time fee, then $4-5 every time you send your transcripts. they do not have to come directly from the school, Interfolio is acceptable.

sorry, I got confused with LORs. I think transcripts have to come straight from your school.

You could just email the schools your updated information.

If you're just updating the schools that you've already applied to about your most recent grades, my advisor told me that it was fine just to email the schools. The only times you need an official transcript are when you submit your AMCAS, and when you matriculate.

Will AMCAS accept any transcripts from Interfolio? Or should I just wait until May when the application system opens with AMCAS and send my transcripts directly there?

I have attended about 5 institutions (one in Europe) and I am worried that they will take a very long time before sending my transcripts so I wanted to do it now with Interfolio. I am trying to send in my AMCAS application the first day I am able. Thanks for any relevant info!

All transcripts have to be sent directly from the institution to AMCAS. You can't use Interfolio as an intermediary

To initially send them to interfolio they have to come from your school, but then you can send them directly from interfolio from there on out, at leasts thats what I have done with other applications, but with AAMC you have to send them directly.

I think that most schools require that it goes through your school's registrar. If all else fails, have your registrar fax over a certified copy and then have them follow-up with a hard copy via post.
