If elected to Senior AOA and you have already submitted ERAS, I understand you can update your profile to show this election. However, if programs have already downloaded your profile, will they see your Senior AOA status?

Or, do you need to email the programs with this new information?

Thanks in advance!

We will see that a new profile has come for you and will normally check. I have also had applicants send an email notification and am OK with that. It gives me a chance to write back and congratulate them.

Wow, super quick response. Thank you very much!

As an aside, is the ERAS application printed off and applications are reviewed that way OR do you view our applications online?

Are there certain criteria you can enter and search by online when you are reviewing applications? Such as Step 1 > 240, AOA status, M3 clerkship grades...etc.

How do you sort the massive number of applications that each program receives?

Yes, I can filter / sort on many criteria. Some are useful: step scores, school you attended, USMG vs IMG, AOA, ECFMG certified, presence of a transcript, number of letters received, number of research experiences, etc.

I can't filter on:
1. The number of attempts at the USMLE you have. I can only filter based upon your last score.
2. Your clerkship grades. These are visible on your transcript, but I can't sort by them. Likewise I can't sort based on a SubI grade.

Who would we send the notification to the program director or to the coordinator?

Hello,
I tried looking on MyERAS site on how to add my AOA member number but there isn't a way to add it. Am I missing something? The only way to indicate that I'm now a member after submitting ERAS app is to use a pull down window that indicates that I'm a AOA member now. This information shows up at the bottom of the application under "Membership in Honorary/Professional Societies" not at the top of the application where "AOA ID" is. (I'm assuming AOA member number = AOA ID?)

Also, what is an "AOA match ID"?

Thanks!

AOA match ID is the American Osteopathic Association match ID. It's for DO's who are applying in the DO match (called the AOA match). You do not enter your Alpha Omega Alpha number anywhere on your ERAS application. You simply state that you were elected to AOA as a senior, and you're done.

Thank you for the info! I appreciate it.
I was issued an AOA member number today (senior AOA and not junior). I just paid for membership online. So I still choose "AOA election held senior year" or "AOA member"?
