I am entering my senior year undergrad, majoring in chem and minoring in biochem. My gpa right now is a 2.94, I will take my DATs this winter break, and maybe apply during the 2nd semester. I am wondering whether I should even bother applying with my GPA, or should I go for a postbacc to raise my GPA, or enter a post bacc program with direct entrance to dental school. How difficult are these programs to get into? The Temple Program sounds very intriguing as it would give me direct entrace into dental school if I did well in it. Is this program very hard to get into?

Is that your science GPA? if yes, you might be able to get by with high DAT scores. if that's your overall GPA I suggest taking more classes to get that up.

That is my overall GPA. My science is around a 2.6 or 2.7. Do you know if post bacc programs would accept me if i got my GPA up to a 3.1?

I think you will need at least 3.4.

I don't think you should apply this year, especially if you don't plan on taking your DAT until winter break. Also, you can't really apply in your second semester since most school's deadline for applying will be over by then. With your GPA, I would suggest doing a post-bacc program or enroll into an MS in a science field (SMP).

Do you have any suggestions for post-bacc programs that would accept me?
