What are some of examples of stuff we need to know? is it just TLC (RF) value, electrophoresis, and using various reagents such as edman's reagent and Sanger's or is there more to it? I'm really not sure what I need to know.
 
That sounds about right. I would double check with the content and outlines and Khan, and maybe your content books, to verify, but what came to mind initially was chromatography (thin layer and column, and maybe reverse-phase + HLPC) and electrophoresis. I do agree with @Holmwood though that the biggest bang for your buck will be being able to interpret data, however I have seen many discrete questions that ask about lab techniques.
