Serious Question: Why doesn't everyone do well on Step 1?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I have it set to 30 1440 7200 11520 and graduating interval of 13 days, that way if I get it wrong again within 2 weeks it resets to 24 hours without decreasing the ease. Over time, I've come to realize that if I can remember it 2 weeks later, I can remember it for 6 months.
I never hit hard-- I only hit again or good.
Doesn't seem too far off of what I have (going off memory). But what is your % correct on mature cards and young cards? I was always hovering around 90% for mature and >90% for young

I’ll match your anecdotes with my own. The only peeps (except 1) I know who got below 240 didn’t use anki.
FWIW, I didn’t claim the anecdotes were something to hang your hat on (n=4). You have to be serious to use ANKI confounding any study. Anyone who sticks to such a rigid regimen should do well.

lol I know. It’s really just about spaced repetition and consistency.

Oh 100% zanki has almost 30k cards now. I did that all in 10months. It was insane. People should really start it first day of first year.
I’m doing OG Dorian now and only have like 500 reviews a day. I have way more time to do uworld and do targeted review, and my shelves and practice exams show a major score increase.
Did you keep up with the entire Dorian deck? Or did you quit reviewing say surgery cards after you were done with that rotation?

Ive kept up the whole time. Only cards I did not do was the UWSA and comprehensive NBME cards. I also did OG dorian so I had a lot of repeats. I came off a rough prec clinical time and step 1 dedicated was rough, so I figured I Could use the repeats. now at the end, I kinda wish I did cheezy because I probably would've only had 400 or less reviews a day

compared to zanki Dorian is way easier to keep up with. There is just way less cards. I think the highest I ever got to was 700 a day and that was during IM cause there are 5000 cards (about 1/3 of the entire deck)

tm

tmr lol. I wanna vomit. much more nervous about this one than I Was for step 1, even though my practice exams are way better this time around. People just seem much more doom and gloom about it.

Good luck man! You’ve put in the work. Trust the process.

Keep up with it. It's wayyyy less work than Step 1 decks as long as you don't do the new giant Anking deck. I did cheesy Dorian, currently spend ~20-25 minutes a day on it. It's around 9k cards total.
