I'm curious to all those who are URMs, if you plan to serve your community when you become a Physician. Or if you're a Physician, what have you done to serve the community in which URM you fall under?

I'm happy to say I plan on serving my community. If not mine then at least another underserved community. My feeling is while growing up I received alot of free medical care due to my living situation and I want a chance to give back.

I definitely plan on giving back to the community. There was a time in my childhood where I got the majority of my expensive asthma medication because the doctor provided us with free samples. This was a big help for obvious reasons. Given your experience, you should definitely highlight that out in your personal statement!

Lol I got alot of my asthma meds from free sample too as a kid. I actually wrote my personal statement and forgot to go into it, I'm definitely making some changes!
