hey guys, i took my test on the 30th of may and i studied only decks. I failed all 4 subjects. Feeling like a failure! I thought i was ready, thought i knew the decks front and back, but it wasn't what i expected it to be. What is? Anyway, has anyone had an experience like this, can you please give me some advice? Feel lost.🙁

hey Bubbly how did you exam go?
Hi there!
Finally done with my exam today. I really dont know how my exams went. As most of them were so easy that i had to check them twice to make sure that they were easy. And most of them were so tricky. Like almost all of them were from released questions and i dont think i got any questions frm decks. Well, the questions were set up so smartly that they were the same exact previous questions repeated but then all the choice answers A. B. C. D. were changed which took me more time to figure out the correct one.
It's been more than 2 days i have been getting headaches.. i know i will still have it until i get the scores and even after that ...
🙁

You are not allowed to take your bag inside the testing area.
During the one hour break you can even leave the center, drive your car wherever you want, but you must come back and continue exam before the break time is up. 🙂 I had that opportunity, though I didn't stop for the break at all...
Hope this helps...

hey doc congratulations on your success.👍hai...
thank u ...!!!
I felt exam was very tricky...the options were too ambiguos and very near and let your mind in total chaos!! I thaought i did many questions wrong and cried all these days about my exam.
What ever we know or read, be clear to minutest details for example almost all vague symptoms of a known disease. (eg: diabetes, lyme disease)etc...which were there as options to identify that disease.we generally neglect such vague symptoms aand few we donno...!
no repeat questions in my paper..all damn new, though i found few questions from old papers , they were totally modified and unidentifiable..!
i read kaplan review notes, kaplan Q book ( very good for clinical testlets),decks ( read line by line), old papers...
i didnt do many revisions of papers due to lack of time..so i think more revisions may help still better....
All the very best to all of u..!!!
thanks gudluckhai mahesh, sva7483 and all,
prepared full time (~10hrs) for 4 months. Apart from decks and kalan, USMLE first aid (found it very crisp and useful) throughly, did available old papers, from 78-98, and pilot papers etc. revised twice only. also studied Kaplan Qbook, rudmans/gard couple of times throughly, felt they were very useful as it will give comprehensive knowledge about each system.
Advise to all is if u have started one system try to read it in all subjects at a time so that it will be useful in vignet questions. what ever u read, read it throughly that matters alot. Keep cool in during exam too.

Hi everyone,
finally i finished my exam.... computer based exam is very comfortable ,u also get ample time to think and answer..... My exam was ok... Mind u ,i worked very hard and revised decks many times.... coming to the point.... highlights...
anat;facial nerve, trigeminal n,muscles involved in protrusion and retrusion, sphenopalatine artery ,circle of willis, axillary artery, braciocephalic vein, nerves derived from different arches....
physio;many questios on gap junction,hemidesmosomes....
patho;neurofibromatosis,ludwigs angina...
DA..too many questions on anatomy of primary teeth....
4-5 questions on ethics....
ya i agree that decks are the best material to refer but many things were there which were asked in depth... i did only decks and question papers... some repeats were there from old papers... many questions were tough where i was suppose to read question atleast twice and then eliminate options and then select the right answer....I am not sure about how i did those things...
I dont say it is a tough exam but mind u its not easy too....
I went to test centre at 7.30am.. i started my test after ten min... afternoon i took only half an hour break .... i was done with my exam by 3.30 pm.... U can take the tution which is available in candidate guide for practice...overall my exam was ok...but i am not satisfied for the amount of hard work i did for my preparation.... u need not worry about the clinical questions ,if u know ur decks well, u will do it ... ok good luck to u guys..please do post ur experience after ur exam... i was the only person who took nbde part 1 exam in the whole centre ,so dont expect that u will get some one with whom u can share ur opinion about the exam...if u want to know something from me, u are welcome... good luck with ur preparation ....
I got my scores finally. Not satisfied but it is where i stand. comp score 87
