Someone told me that there is some policy with the CAS that allows you to have 2 of your 3 LORs submitted with the full application and then the 3rd mailed in later. I had never heard of this, or seen it on the SFMatch website, and was wondering if anyone knows what this person was talking about.

Basically, they were saying that if you didn't secure that 3rd LOR as soon as the first 2, you weren't in trouble because you would be able to send one of them at a later point and it would be distributed with the rest of your application without any problem. Is this true?

I highly doubt this is true. SFMatch clearly states that your application must be complete before they distribute. You can submit an app and include an explanation for a missing document i.e. if you are missing an ECFMG certificate (if you are a FMG) or missing a college transcript, etc. This rule does not apply to letters of rec. You can always call and confirm. 415-447-0350

I actually called about the same problem yesterday..u can submit 2 LOR with an explanation letter for missing one...u can send 3rd one later through ur curriculum office or through SF match as a supplement document...just make sure that ur explanation is solid since PDs will see.

Have fun.
