Hi. Recently applied for ophtho through SF match, and was told that I went out with the second batch.

However, two of my friends who also applied to ophtho received an email from SF match which listed out all the programs that they applied to, asking them to confirm their distribution list.

The only email I got from them was the confirmation one stating that they received my application.

Did everyone get this distribution list email?

i did not get the distribution list confirmation email. i did get an email stating my app was complete and that it would be sent out within a few days.
it definitely would have been nice to get that email, however, given the stories we've heard thus far about sf match and errors in that list.

mine went in the first batch and i didn't get any email listing the programs on my initial distribution list. within the last week i added 5 more programs using the supplemental distribution list, which i'm sure will go out in the second batch...i'll let you know if they send me an email like you got.

I did receive an email listing all the programs I applied to. But this lack of consistency is unacceptable for a "Program" that handles such an important professional process and makes a profit out of it.

i received the distribution list email and all of my programs were correct. however, i did not receive an email saying that my application was received and complete (which it has to be because i sent in my complete application, letters, transcripts, and all along with my distribution list) so they obviously have my application, but i would love to know when they will send it out.

Called them today, and requested that my distribution list be sent to me via email. Those of you who didn't get it might want to do this, as the help line told me I should have received this email.

The letter should read:

*** PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. ALL INQUIRIES MUST BE SENT TO DIRECTED TO OUR PHONE LINE 415-447-0350 Ext. "0" ***

Dear John Doe (1);

We have entered your Distribution list as follows below.
Please review, and contact us immediately at 415-447-0350, ext "0" if something is in error.
You do not need to respond if the list is correct.

for what it is worth (coming from SFMatch)...I received three emails from SF indicating that my application had been sent out.
#1 after then found the letter or rec that THEY had lost, they said sorry and that my application would be sent out immediately
#2 a week later I received a list of all the programs I had applied to
#3 a few days after that, i received an email stating my application had been sent out.
i am pretty sure mine ended up landing in the second batch (i submitted it in mid-late august)

called SF Match today at 5 PM CST, got the distribution list by email a couple of hours later (including both my initial and supplemental distribution list programs)

does anyone know if sf match charges your credit card only when they have or are about to send your application out? i sent in my application 2 weeks ago but they just charged my credit card on thursday. should i assume that because they finally charged my card that they are sending my app out or does it mean that they are only just now getting to my application amongst the piles of them laying around?

I believe so, the same thing happened to me -- mailed in app -- 2 weeks later credit card charged -- called SF Match this last Fri and my app was just going out to programs.

little slow ...👎 🙁

My application was complete >2 weeks ago, but no charges in my credit card yet. I am starting to get anxiety induced PVC's...
