Hi all,

I know that with any field, there is much diversity in terms of stats/averages, but I was wondering, is there any "well-known" average or target science GPA and cumulative GPA for D.O. schools? I apologize if this has already been asked - sort of new to the osteopathy field, and just trying to find some answers 🙂

happy weekend!

I wonder what the standard deviation is. Would a 3.3 be within like 1 standard deviation?

I tend to think so, I also think that an sGPA in the range of like 3.1-3.4 is totally acceptable (depending on the school), and I have even read about ~3.0's getting into med schools. My friend's dad was on the board of Baylor-granted this was in the early 2000's-and said that he admitted someone with an sGPA under a 3.0. I think a 3.3 is definitely fine though :thumb up: Are you thinking of applying this cycle?

Yep planing on applying.

Right now just focused on MCAT which is June 21st, i figure in the month before scores come out i will have time to do my personal statement, get the apps finished and submitted and by the time the score comes in I'll be verified.

sciGPA = 3.4
cGPA = 3.0
MCAT = 30

Turns out I did a lot better in my science courses and these numbers include a fair number of retakes. Planning on applying broadly and early next year.
