Hi,
I know a lot of people on the forum are not a fan of Caribbean schools, but unfortunately it might be the only option for some of us. I'm those of you that have interviewed with SGU this year could help me out.

My advisor sent me this:
Please note that at the start of your interview, you will be asked to write
a brief personal essay. You will be given about 10 to 15 minutes to answer
one out of three questions. The questions are based on personal experiences
or motivations. The essay is a great opportunity to tell us a little more
about you.

I was wondering if any of you would mind sharing the 3 question options.

Thank you and good luck!

choose one of three choices and write an essay in ten minutes

1. who influenced you the most?
2. what qualities are important for physicians?
3. why do you want to be a doctor?

Check Valuemd.com... the questions are always the same and they were posted there multiple times.

Also... reconsider the option of attending SGU. Not that it's bad in the sense that you won't learn anything or the island is a piece of crap, it's just that you'll be spending a crapton of money on an education that won't be guaranteed to produce anything for you in 4 years. Consider an SMP first. If you have good enough grades to get in to SGU, you have good enough grades to get into one of the SMPs.

Seriously, man, don't do it. The best thing you can do in that interview is write, "SGU sucks" and leave early to enjoy the beach. Best. Decision. Ever.

Thanks for the invaluable information.

If you are dead set on SGU, you better post on the "caribbean" section (please don't go there I beg of you for the love of god). Otherwise, you will be shot on site over here posting about the "caribbean" as an option.

Don't even think of attending SGU until you have exhausted all other options (US MD, DO; post bacc-SMP)
