I found that a majority of students had Dell computers (I did as well). Although, my experience with them was a bit less than satisfactory. I had a mother board problem while down there, so I had to Fed Ex my computer to my home (at my expense) so that Dell could send me another one via Fed Ex (at my family's expense). Also, Grenada will charge you duty on the computer when you arrive at the airport, so be sure to keep your receipt! The officer will write on your reciept that you paid duty, and how much. You'll need it when you go back into the country; otherwise, you'll pay AGAIN for your computer.
I actually got out of paying duty when I first arrived because I have one of those backpacks that doubles as a laptop carrier. For some reason, the guard didn't ask me if I had a computer, so I didn't pay! Of course, upon receiving my "new" computer via Fed Ex, I did have to pay, because I had not the first time.
So, in a rather long-winded answer to your question, a lot of people had Dell; if I had it to do over again, I'd get an apple!
Seriously, though, the wireless network works with pretty much any adaptor, but LinkSys seems to work the best. I had a "Wireless B" adaptor, and it worked just fine.
Have fun in Grenada! It's a great experience!
