can you transfer from a foreign medical school to a US medical school after a year or two?

Transfers from foreign medical schools are relatively few and far between. I would not count on it. Many US medical schools do not accept any tranfers from abroad; you have to complete to the medical degree. If you have a premedical advisor who is a member of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions, he/she may have a copy of a book, for sale only to members, which gives, for each US medical school,
information on transfer back: how many, from where. State medical schools which accept some transfers commonly restrict them to their own state residents.

In any case, all of them require transferees to take and pass part I (basic sciences) of the USLME (U S Medical Licensing Exam) and have high scores. But that alone does not guarantee transfer. First preference if there are slots available usually go to transfers from other US med schools.
