Hey Everyone,

What is appropriate dress for shaddowing? I am going with a friend of mine who recently broke his collar bone to his apt with a DO who is a close friend of his. She (the DO) is excited to have me visit, but I haven't talked directly with her yet. Or shaddowed anyone yet, for that matter =)

The DO I shadow told me to wear dress pants, a dress shirt, and a tie prior to my first shadowing session.

I would say nice business casual. Guys nice pants, possibly tie, women dress pants/skirt and top. Somewhere in between how you would dress going to the gof course and not as dressy as you would for an interview.

thanks so much guys! One other question - at what point would it be appropriate to bring up the question of getting a LOR?

I wouldn't bring up the letter until you have had enough persona; interaction with the physician to make yourself stand out as special. Think about it, if some kid came in and followed you quietly for a day, would you have much to say about them? If you actually sit down interview-style that is different.
