Shadowing - 2 options - What's better?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i'd go with the 3 option. you will want a letter and the more time you can spend with an individual doctor, the better letter they will be able to write for you. but why such random numbers (36 hours each?)

I already have a letter from a doc. I dunno about the hours, it's just what the program offers...

Doesn't matter. It's all about what you learn from the experience and being able to convey that information on your application. If you don't have any clue what fields you might like, choose the 10 doc pick. If you have an idea of which specialties might interest you and want a little more exposure, choose the 3 docs.

Okay, well if you already have a solid physician letter, I agree with going with the 10 to get exposed to different specialties.

10 for 12, no question. You're not going to learn any depth in 36hrs anyway...breadth is the biggest gain here.

Shadowing letters are silly anyway (though I'm bitter because I blame them for unjustly invalidating other, less-fluffy physician LORs).
