Quick question. If I was unsure whether or not I was applying to an MD or DO school would it be better to shadow/volunteer with an MD or DO. I'm basically taking the MCAT in August and then applying to whatever type of school I think would be my best chance. I really want to do MD though. So, do osteopathic or allopathic schools care which one you shadow under. I'm a newbie at the whole application process as you can tell. Thanks!

For some DO schools you need a DO LOR so you might want to shadow a DO some if you think your chances at an MD school are not as high. You can always do both.

No...most osteopathic schools will ask for either an MD or DO letter, but it does look better if you can show them some sort of experience with the osteopathic side of medicine, so in that sense a DO letter would be better. But overall, it does not really matter as long as the physician can state your interest in medicine in the best possible way.
