I am not sure how much or exactly what to include under the activities description part of dental experience on the application. I have shadowed tons, but you just stand there and watch the dentist, what could my description be???
Any help would be appreciated!

If you cannot come up with a paragraph about what you witnessed and what, if any impact, those procedures had on you, then maybe the search for a future career is not over.

I think the OP may be exaggerating a little, but I don't think shadowing is supposed to be a life-changing experience...but rather just an opportunity for us to see a dentist at work.
To the OP: Just say what you saw: a dentist's daily routine. Talk about it.

But that is precisely what it is supposed to be. To suggest that one really cares about dentistry but is non nonchalant about the procedures performed in a dental office, is like saying that you really like football or basketball but are not too enthused about watching professionals at play.

Don't stretch it too much doctootache, all I wanted to know was a general response. If you can't help, don't hurt atleast!

The professional sports analogy is a dud. I am watching the MLB All-Star game right now. What a snoozefest! Yawn. Does that mean I dislike baseball? No way! I am a HUGE Cubs fan. To the OP, just describe what you witnessed. If anything in particular inspired you, talk about that. You might also want to tie it in with your strengths. For instance, I am a social person and one constant I observed in my observations was the quality relationships formed between dentist and patient. I could go in further detail, but you get my drift. Not every observation is going to be worship at the altar of dentistry.
