So I'm about 3 shadowing days away from completing my 50 hours. I might do 20 hours at a speciality or two.
But anyway, I saw a variety of procedures and I enjoyed the experience. I love the patient contact and interaction, I love the variety in terms of procedures and I enjoy the hands on work that gets to be done with the cool toys😀. A large part of me would enjoy doing this kind of work. I leave the office feeling that I wouldn't mind doing this for the rest of my life and I would be very fortunate to do so. Its something I honestly wouldn't picture my self feeling. To be actually satisfied with any sort of work.
During my hours I've asked a lot of questions about what I saw and why a certain procedure was being done on one person while a different technique was being used on another. But I feel like I don't have much to ask anymore, and I'm just nearing 50 hours. Isn't that a bad thing? I'm obviously not ready to do the procedures myself but I feel like I've seen the gist of it and feel motivated to just jump into dental school and get behind the wheel.
Advice? I guess I see people with over a +100 hours so I guess this makes me wonder If I'm doing the right thing or If I should be asking more.
Thank you for your time 🙂
