Shadowing = community service?

Does shadowing a physician in a hospital setting count toward community service?

Also, if the above doesn't count (then I'm desperate), can we include high school community service like volunteering at a hospital? 😱
 
But how could shadowing a doc be considered community service? Have you provided the community with service by shadowing this doc or did you do it for yourself? I think the answer is pretty straight forward...

If you are desperate and the application does not specify that it needs to have been done during your college years I guess you can list them...but if they ask you should be honest and tell them when you did the volunteer work....this is just my opinion though...good luck.
