shadowing doctors in long island/ny?

looking for some doctors to shadow in NY, preferably long island. anyone know of any - i've tried calling multiple doctors and nothing is going through 🙁 feeling pretty defeated right now 🙁

yeah but a lot of their numbers just go to their secretaries and they don't do anything. ill try faxing them but it seems like a waste.

there's a local DO school nearby. who should I contact there? I see tons of professors contact info but no doctors?

I shadowed on Long Island. The only way I was able to do it was through a hospital tech friend pretending that I was a family member and asking a surgeon for a favor. If you have any connections, use em.

If you go to Stony or Hosftra, use that to get into their hospitals.

Some places allow you to shadow if you volunteer long enough

i go to neither - i have 0 connections, no one in my family is a doc.

i go to uni in a different state.

did you try doing it through NYCOM?

I just did it through the friend. I was out on Long Island for the summer to do research and she hooked me up. I didn't know any doctors prior to shadowing, so your connection doesn't need to be a doctor.

I don't really know anyone here either unfortunately - haven't kept in touch with anyone from home.
