I know each school has different requirements for how many shadowing hours are needed in order to apply. I was wondering if more hours would benefit me and how many hours does everyone try to have? I'm hoping to have anywhere from 150-200. Thanks

I would focus on getting hours in different settings, and not worry so much about how many hours you are actually getting. I shadowed in 3 settings and did 120 hours. But I also have a full time job.

I agree with Yorit, getting experience in numerous setting gives programs the idea that genuinely know what OT is, and if it is right for you. I have 265 from an outpatient peds internship, and about 40 from inpatient hospital which consisted of: neuro, cardiac, oncology, ICU, then about 30 from a SNF. I was really able to use this to my advantage during my interviews! I hope this helps!
