I was talking to a few adviorers and a few friends that are upperclassmen who are also pre med about shadowing. I am not getting very much luck with cold calls ( called 15 places and only got to shadow 1 person) so one of my friends said that she goes in person and she has gotten alot of shadowing done this way because she says its harder for them to say no in person. She said that when ever she goes she brings a piece of paper with her that has who she is, what shes majoring in and her contact info and availabilty. I'm kind of nervous about this so i have a sample outline of the letter.
Hello,
My name is... I am a pre med student majoring in Behavior Neuroscience at.... I am currently taking me prerequisites to apply for medical school in 2018. I would love an opportuinty to shadow you in the near future. I am availaible the month of May from Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm. My contact information is...
Thank you for your time

I put the dots in because I didnt want people knowing my personal info. Is that good? I'm handing them out to a few different doctors in different fields so I dont want to put their name on their or talk to much about their field because i know some practices not everyone lets people shadow so a few do so I think it might be kind of awkward if I put a doctors name on their but if another doctor was willing to let me shadow instead. Do you think its to impersonal without names and talking about why i am interested in their field? I was thinking maybe i could make a few. I want to shadow in Neurology and Pathology so maybe make 2 letters where one is talking about why i want to shadow neuro and the other about pathology?
