Hi I had the opportunity to shadow a Medical Director and Founder of the equivalent of a Community/General Hospital in China during my Summer studying abroad, and was wondering if I should put it on my application- Pros and Cons would help me out alot! Thanks!

PS. The experience was unique in that the hospital combined both traditional remedies and Western Advances in a culturally competent and sound manner that put their patients at ease.

It's fine. Just supplement it with shadowing in the United States as well.

I had the opportunity to ....

Do you mean you passed up an opportunity, or really did it?

If you actually did it, you just wrote the base of what you should put on your AMCAS:
"The experience was unique in that the hospital combined both traditional remedies and Western Advances in a culturally competent and sound manner that put their patients at ease."

I say definitely put it on your app. Understanding medical practices in other cultures is important in the US since patients come from such diverse backgrounds. Say you get a Chinese patient who is refusing treatment that an American doctor would recommend; you know have some cultural knowledge to connect with the patient and understand where they are coming from...just a thought.
