Shadowing question

So I am just wondering when I should start asking doctors to be shadowed. Does it have to be early like 3 months from when I want to begin shadowing or, can I just call up and ask to shadow next week.

It depends on the doctor. When I called about shadowing a doctor, they called me back and discussed what times would work. I think I started shadowing them the next week.

Ask what day/time would be good for them. Usually ends up being same week/following week unless there's paperwork you have to fill out.
