Say I want to shadow a psychiatrist.

Before I do it, should I refresh my memory on the psych material we have covered so far (1st year)?

i guess the same applies for any other fields i would want to shadow

Couldn't hurt, but don't go nuts. Well I guess if you do you're covered.

I wouldn't expect much of what you learned first year to be relevant to psych.

Wouldn't hurt. I shadowed several surgeons who asked me about the anatomy they were working on during the cases.

If by "refresh" you mean "learn for the first time" then knock yourself out. If you are really SHADOWING, i.e. sitting there trying not to look bored watching someone else just do their job, then it probably wont matter. UNless, of course you are trying to get into that department and you want to make a good impression. Then MAYBE.

yeah i mean this is the only reason i would shadow. if i am interested in a field, interested in going into it, i obviously want to make a good impression
