Hey, this might have been brought up somewhere, but I couldn't find it in the search so I decided to make a new thread. Anyways, I spent this summer in a Korean hospital (Kyungpook National University Hospital) for close to 2 months shadowing various doctors in various departments spending about a week with each. I accumulated about 200+ hours but my question is would I have to get additional shadowing experience in the US with American doctors? And I don't necessarily have to keep a log of the hours or get a verification form or something of the sort, right?

By the way, I'm currently (going to be) a 3rd year student at Rochester majoring in Bio. I'm not an international student, if that helps at all lol.

No log necessary. Keep track of total hours, as this will be asked on the application.

More important, be able to reflect on what the shadowing experience as a whole did for you (i.e. affirmed your desire to become a physician, etc.)

Good Luck!

International shadowing shouldn't stand on its own if you plan to apply to US med schools. I'd recommend some US physician shadowing as well, perhaps of an office-based primary care doc.

thats what i figured, just wanted to make sure, thanks guys!
