How does your performance on the 1st year shelf exams correlate with how well you do on step1? I've been doing avg but what I found interesting was that on the shelf, biochem for example, the highest grade in our entire class was the 86th percentile, for microbio it was 84. Does that seem a bit low? Is this due the fact that our class wasn't prepared very well either through the fault of our school or ourselves for not studying so hard, or am i misjudging these scores?

That might be a bit on the low side for top score, but both the biochem and micro shelf are probably the toughest basic science shelfs.

if you are around the mean in your shelf exams then you can sort of corellate it with what the average medical student gets on the step 1

which is 215-225 i believe
