I'm looking for suggestions on comfortable and good-looking (women's) shoes for walking around the hospital. I've seen several 3rd and 4th yrs with the same clog-like black pair that works with black pants, but I don't know what they're called or if they are decent. I'm open to any ideas.

Thanks.

Danskos are the clogs you most likely see everyone wearing.

I think the Professional is the most popular model. If you do a search in the residency or clinical rotation forums there's several threads on the subject 🙂

I hate Dansko's. I know others love them, but they are so incredibly heavy and hard soled. I wore Naots through my entire 3rd and 4th years as well into internship. They come in lots of styles and are really high quality shoes. They run about the same cost as Danskos.

I tried to wear the birkenstock shoes, too, since I am a big fan of their sandals, but I didn't like them - they were generally really heavy, too, and I couldn't make them tight enough so that I wasn't constantly shuffling. I did wear the plasticy black ones they have with the removal insole for my OB rotation because, ook ick, there was lots of goo and I needed to be able to wash those shoes out. They were ok to stand in for deliveries, but I didn't wear them much except that month.
