What are some of your favorite shoes for clinicals? Both men's and women's responses would be helpful I think. I've heard people like Adidas Ultraboost, any other suggestions?

Can’t go wrong with anything that lights up.

You want something that you can stand on for at least 8-12+ hours w/ minimal fatigue. Although not stylish, Merrell Jungle Mocs are ridiculously comfortable for standing up 8+ hours per day. I have 3 pairs on hand just in case they ever discontinue them. Black jungle mocs - no problem with blood, spit, or whatever fluids might be spilled on them. For me, it's function over style.

Can confirm

I got ultraboost a few months ago after seeing other people recommend them here and I absolutely love them. Most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had. I know they’re a little pricey, but Adidas puts styles on sale pretty frequently, and they also give a 15% student discount. I think I paid $112 vs. $180 retail.

I also wear Merrell. Very comfortable.

Anything Adidas usually, either Alphabounce, Pureboost or Ultraboost. Sole padding is key for long hours standing (especially if you plan on doing an externship or residency)

I've used the same Nike running shoes throughout dental school. I interchange between 3 pairs. Unless my employer has specific dress code for shoes, I probably will wear the same pairs until they are visibly worn out. A part of patient's perception of the office is through how the office and staff present themselves so I'd also keep that in mind.
