Should course numbers include the dept abbreviation?

On my unofficial transcript, courses are listed like:

"CHEM 1200 General Chemistry 2 A 4.0"

So do I say the course number is 1200 or CHEM 1200?

I would do Chem 1200 because you're official transcript probably says that as well. If you list it as Chem 1200 and your transcript says that as well, if the class may not be legitimate science you still may be able to get away with it because of the prefix 😉.

Definitely include the dept abbreviation. I believe this is one of the ways that AMCAS determines what courses are considered in your sGPA.
