So I graduated this past fall and applied to medical school this cycle and got 3 interviews which ended with 2 waitlists and 1 rejection.

I decided to apply to clinical research positions in anticipation of taking gap years since honestly I am really drained from this whole process and if I don’t get off the waitlist this cycle I want to take extra time off. I got 3 offers at very prestigious hospitals and the work is really exciting to me however they all request a 2 year commitment.

I would be starting towards the end of this month but I am wondering whether I should accept these positions since if I do end up getting off the waitlist at one of these schools I would likely have to quit and I’m honestly kind of scared to burn these bridges. Any advice would be appreciated.

Until you get an offer, you should continue to improve your profile for reapplication. In your case, proceed until you get the pleasant surprise of a medical school acceptance.
